She was asked to participate in a spring showing at the Maryland Institute College for the Arts (MICA) in 2016.  The audience went wild for her afro-futuristic looks! She posted them on Instagram, she was then discovered and  invited to New York fashion week.  Scouts there loved her line so much they invited her to Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, and a star was born! She incorporated Nikki Hendricks Designs LLC. in 2017 shortly after graduating from MICA.

She went on to show at London and Romania (Feeric) Fashion Weeks whilst she participated local shows in DC, Baltimore, and New York. She also started her first residency with  DC Fashion Foundation from 2017-2019.

Even when the pandemic hit the fashion industry, she pivoted to making masks for non-profits. With nearly five years of design and show experience under her belt, she has turned to consulting for set designs, fashion events and personal style along with creating eco-friendly wearable art clothing collections.
